While Willard Bean does not give proper citations for most of his quotes, he clearly did some good research to come up with this book. The book gives a concise history of Joseph Smith, and it includes many details missing from other accounts of the Prophet. First published in Palmyra in 1938–republished in 2007 by Willard’s family.
